Pidato Bahasa Inggris tentang Arah Pengembangan Pendidikan Agama Islam di Madrasah pada Era Globalisasi dan Informasi

Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb

(Ta’awudz, Basmalah, Alhamdulillah ….. Ammaba’du)

Firstly  let’s  say  Alhamdulillah to  our  god  Allah  SWT  who  has  giving  us  some  mercies  and blessings, so we can attend in this happy place without any troubles and obstacles.

Secondly, sholawat and pray always be given to our prophet Muhammad saw who has guided us

from the darkness to the lightness. From the stupidity to the cleverness namely Islam.

Today, I  would like to  deliver my speech about "Education  Development  Direction  of  Islamic

School in Globalization and Information Era"

Ladies and gentlement

Madrasah or Islamic school is one of important Islamic education institution in Indonesia besides pesantren. The existance is so important to create national framework who has an Islamic conception and has nationalism minded. One of overplus which owned by Islamic school is applying integration between theology and  secular. Islamic school also  becomes an  essential part  of  national education institution in Indonesia. Because Islamic boarding school have prove that he can produce a big output who as the nation rising generation.

In  current  development,  Islamic  school  has  succeeded  get  society’s  interest  because  of  their progress in education systems. Nowadays, some of Islamic school offers a modern education concept. This concept not only gives theology aspect but also adapted some secular lesson which be applied in common school. Islamic school progressions is not only on human resources, but they also have curriculum design is more sophisticated and modern management system. Besides that, Islam ic school be supported by good infrastructure and facilities according to learning and teaching activity.

In other side, the present of globalization era prone to felt concerned about nation life. This matter is caused by information and communication development which prone to negative and massive. The influence of globalization marked the rapid development of technology, especially communication, information, and  transportation. Increasing direct  and  indirect interactions between citizens of  the world, the growing number of available information and obtained, widespread intellectual horizons, the emergence of openness and democratic currents in both the political and economic fields, prolonged cultural distance between older and younger generations, the growing awareness of economic interdependence, and usually limits the sovereignty of the region because it i s not limited information.

For education, globalization brings both positive and negative impacts, directly or indirectly. The opening of businesses doing to transform education by making learning system reform and innovation, open universities and so is the positive impact of globalization. Globalization has caused such a huge impact in the dimension of human life, because globalization is a process of internationalization of the entire structure of modern society. Resulting in impacts that vary mainly on social aspects. The positive impact of technological advances and information that facilitate human interaction with other humans. While the negative effects, the number of values and culture of the people who experienced the change by imitating or apply them selectively, one sample with the presence of modernization in all areas of life .

By looked of this condition, so we can conclude that Islamic school students’ should have global horizon  about  others  culture  and  foreign  languages.  There  are  some  qualifications which  must  be completed by Islamic school to hold out on globalization era, inter-alia:

1.   Improving knowledge, not only knowledge about religion but also about language, math, science, social, culture, etc.

2.   Improving  learning  capability,  that  is  ability  to  learning  formal,  in  formal  and  non  formal arrangement.

3.   Giving basic knowledge in science and technology aspect.

4.   Giving entrepreneur skill.

5.   And of course always guide student to hold fast to Al Qur’an and Hadith.

To close my speech, I quoted a catch word that suitable to facing globalization and information era, that is Almuhafadhoh ‘ala qodimis sholeh, wal akhdu bijadidil ashlah. It’s mean defending old culture which still good and taking new culture which better. Finally, may it happen the presence of globalization era can bring positive influences, either in mindset or in behavior.
